New - Highways Improvement Plan

Published: 23 April 2020

/_UserFiles/Files/SPC Highways Improvement Plan v3.pdfThe Parish Council meeting of 19 March agreed the newly introduced Highways Improvement Plan for negotiation with KCC Highways. This is a formal document that includes four priorities with a brief summary of supporting evidence. We will pursue the Plan rigorously with KCC and, while recognising the County has limited finding, know only too well the blight on daily life and misery caused by a lack of proportionate action by Highways in recent times.

The four priorities are: 1) the multiple junction at Neames Forstal / Selling Road / Station Aproach / Crouch Lane with numerous issues of speeding, safety, careless driving and parking; 2) the terrible persistent flooding under the bridge in Fox Lane with blocked gullies and failure of road warning signs; 3) the associated issues of speeding, parking, school access and LGVs outside and close to Selling School; and 4) the completely inappropriate and hazardous use of Selling Road by large goods vehicles (LGVs).

Progress will be updated here on our website.
